“I was hunting north of Libby for elk on Nov. 17 after a good snow. After walking for about 2 hours, saw 3 sets wolf tracks. About 1/2 hour later, saw a wolf below me in the timber. I shot and dropped in his tracks. He weighed 93lbs. and was an adult male. About 1/2 hour after the wolf was killed his buddies began “howling” down the canyon from me.”

“Todd Kleen, archery bull 5×5, at midnight returned to truck to find wolves surrounding it, because he had a deer in it the day before. He made a lot of noise to scare them off, which didn’t help them to move at all, his head lamp is what helped, and he ran like…to get into the truck. The wolves stayed 20 yards away. That elk may not be a trophy, but it is worth it’s weight in gold since he returned home unscathed,” from wife Shelly.
