FWP Seeks Public Comment on Fleecer Wildlife Management Area Grazing Lease Renewal – MFWP

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on an environmental assessment for a proposal to renew a livestock grazing lease for three years on the Fleecer Wildlife Management Area south of Butte.

FWP proposes to enter into the three-year lease from April 2010 to October 2012, allowing the continuation of a rest-rotation livestock grazing system on the wildlife management area. The grazing system has been in place on Fleecer WMA for 25 years.

The proposed lease would total 7,135 acres and encompass both public and private land ownerships.

The environmental assessment is available at the FWP office in Bozeman (1400 S. 19 th Ave.) and on FWP’s Web site at fwp.mt.gov under Recent Public Notices .

Comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. on January 16, 2010, and should be mailed or emailed to:
